I’m one of those people who don’t enjoy YA though, so maybe YA readers might find this more enjoyable than I did. Two are somewhat normal teenagers while the other two happen to be teenage terrorists. One of the best things about Science Fiction is how it can make us think about the things happening in our world by creating an abstract version of the world that challenges our current beliefs.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year? Thanks for the great review, Giselle! Is it a war story? But none of this affected how much i enjoyed this book. No author should write about such serious matters thoughtlessly and immaturely. How did the virus work, why were some people effected blaclout not others?

The only way to fight terrorist teens with super powers is to wellls other terrorist teens with super powers. She likes her characters bad-ass, her plots full of action and her fair share of gore – though she will indulge in a chick-lit here and there. I really did find the plot of Blackout to be exciting and fast-paced. There are probably other books almost exactly like this one, only better quality and at least more interesting. I really enjoyed the plot and enjoyed the story, I just wish there had been a bit more character development. I was invested into this rich and vast world right from page one and never wanted to leave.
Jack and Aubrey are high school students. I have it to review also, but I am kind of not wanting to at this point. She kind of ditched her old friends in order to robixon the social ladder in high school, and she now uses her powers of invisibility to shoplift because she’s really poor, so she uses it wepls steal school supplies, medicine, etc.

Is it a mindless action thriller? But I guess my issue is that, not only were all of them boooring, Alec and Laura are welle evil and I could never figure out why they were the way they wrlls, besides the fact that that’s how they were raised.
I never really connected with any of their characters and honestly, it was hard to have any sympathy for them because of their actions. I didn’t connect with them or understand why they were doing what they were doing.
The characters were boring, and the plot was not as interesting as I hoped it would be. Is it a post-apocalyptic novel? It would have helped if we had vlackout some world building, surely. I’m really hoping for a redemption from the sequel coming out this September.

If you are looking for a dystopian novel, there are so many better options out there. Additionally, we only get a brief account of the war itself, mostly what has been targeted. And these four are about to find their lives intertwined in a complex web of deception, loyalty, and catastrophic danger—where one wrong choice could trigger an explosion that ends it all.
